UK Reports to the EC on the promotion of Biofuels

The UK reports annually to the European Commision under Article 4 of the Biofuels Directive (2003/30/EC) on the promotion of the use of biofuels or other renewable fuels for transport. These reports fulfil the UK’s obligation to report to the European Commission by 1 July each year on the effectiveness of the UK Government’s support for biofuels during the previous calender year.

Road vehicle emission factors 2009

TRL prepared mathematical formulae that relate the rate of emission of a pollutant and fuel consumption to average vehicle speed. The new emission factors incorporate the latest test data on vehicles meeting the new vehicle Euro emission standards, the formulae also address published future standards. In preparing the formulae, TRL addressed concerns raised in the public consultation.
